Elect Jason J. Lee
Arcadia City Council, District 5
My Life Is Arcadia
Arcadia has been my home for over 17 years. I raised my 2 older daughters here and now I’m raising my youngest with my wife Daisy. I have been provided great opportunities in Arcadia, but my journey hasn’t always been easy.
I came to America more than 30 years ago as a graduate student with practically nothing.
I spent many years studying at several American universities and have therefore been completely indoctrinated in the American way of life. I am well versed in the American jurisprudence as well as Western history, philosophy, literature and the arts,
I received my LL.M. (Master of Laws) degree from the University of Michigan Law School. I have a 2nd LL.M. degree from UCLA School of Law with a specialization in business law – securities regulation track. I earned my Juris Doctor degree from the University of Iowa College of Law and completed a course in negotiation at Harvard University School of Law. I obtained my M.A. in journalism from the University of Alabama and worked for the BBC as a radio program producer based in London, the United Kingdom.
My oldest daughter has since graduated from Johns Hopkins University. My second daughter is a junior in Johns Hopkins University as a pre-med student.
Because part of my education was financed by scholarships which are American taxpayers’ money, I feel I owe a debt to American people. I want to repay that debt by volunteering my time, knowledge and experience on the City Council to help other people succeed in their lives.
I feel the American people have done me a huge favor. I want to return that favor by being a public servant for the residents of Arcadia.
A Safer Arcadia
I am running for City Council because I want to see Arcadia keep our neighborhoods safe by supporting our police so they can have the continued resources to fight crime and make sure our property values stay high. I support hiring additional police officers to increase the patrols of our neighborhoods and to address homelessness and home burglaries.
I donated $10,000 to the Arcadia Police Foundation to help support our K-9 Unit.
Every street should have neighborhood watch.
We need more license plate reader cameras near our freeway onramps and offramps to catch criminals as they come into our City before they commit crimes.
I am about my community
Giving back to the community is important to me.
I volunteer at Arcadia Law Day, giving advice and guidance to local residents who otherwise don’t have access to legal advice.
I volunteer at the San Gabriel Asian Youth Center.
I was a board member and legal counsel of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce of Los Angeles for many years. I was its 2017-28 President
I am a member of the Arcadia Chamber of Commerce.
I am a lifetime member of the Friends of Arcadia Museum.
I am a member of the Arcadia Rotary Club and have received the Paul Harris Fellow Award. .
